Computer Dynamics, Inc. staff finally got to see their own corporate office for the first time following Hurricane Katrina. We put our customers first and made sure they were operational before checking on our own damage. That took two months from the date of Katrina’s landfall.
For those two months, most of our work involved relocating client’s data centers since all of New Orleans was under water and many of the surrounding cities were closed to all but emergency and recovery personnel. We are proud to say that with our careful backup and recovery planning and disaster recovery planning, not one of our clients lost one bit of data in the wake of Katrina.
While we were spared from flooding that affected most of the region, the rooftop of our office building was compromised and we received water in our office anyway. Although the water damage was minor, affecting furniture while sparing our computer and phone equipment, we ultimately decided to relocate our office due to the extended period of time required to repair the building we occupied.
