Computer Dynamics, Inc. implements
custom solution for New Orleans based French Quarter hotel chain to provide full control
over in-room telephone features from the iSeries™ application software
May 12, 2005 - Computer Dynamics, Inc.
has implemented a custom solution for a New Orleans based French Quarter hotel chain that allows
their iSeries™ to control in-room phone features via their NEC 2400 phone system. An in-room phone
is automatically activated by the application upon the guest checking-in. The in-room phones can
be set to do-not-disturb upon the guest's request, can be set to block outgoing calls if the guest
does not secure a deposit and automatically disables the phone upon the guest checking-out to eliminate
phone abuse in empty rooms. This custom interface allows for changing any of the individual
phone settings during a guest's stay and has allowed hotel management to remove bulky and
antiquated phone system consoles from the front desk, making for a more modern and tidy
front desk. The interface program communicates with the NEC phone system via
